Before founding gazeley+gazeley consulting – the communication experts, Mary Lou was co-owner and Principal of The Barkley Gazeley Communication Group, an award winning globally connected public relations agency in Vancouver, and Vice-President of Toronto-based Tempus Communications. She was also President of The Canadian Public Relations Exchange, a national network of independent public relations affiliates.
She brings a journalist’s eye to all communication content thanks to her first-hand experience in front of the camera as a television host and co-host, a freelance columnist for the Vancouver Sun, a magazine editor and author of a best selling book on fashion.
Mary Lou also believes in giving back to the community in volunteer capacities. She served in leadership positions as a member of the Board of Trustees of Arts Umbrella, Canada’s premier arts education organization; and served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Art Gallery and MOV, the Museum of Vancouver. She currently sits on the board of the Gibsons Community Building Society.
